Joy, One Thing Worth Having: Getting fired and experiencing joy rarely go together. Asking someone to "rejoice always" after losing his job seems cruel or insensitive. But Philippians 4 shows that even in a test-of-faith, we can experience joy - not in the sense of earthly happiness, but in the unexplainable peace that God sends us. Philippians 4:4-7, 12b-13 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. In Business Terms ... Zig Ziglar's oldest daughter died on May 13, 1995. The Bible tells us to rejoice always. How do you rejoice under those circumstances? His wife and he are still weeping. However, they can rejoice in the total assurance they have that they know where she is and that they loved her and provided her the best medical care available. Psalm 139:16 says God set her death date from the foundation of the earth. In weeping we can still have joy, but joy is a condition we're in because of a decision we made. In times of weeping, joy is the only thing in life worth having. Zig Ziglar said; "Her death is the most difficult thing I've experienced, and yet I've felt God's presence so strong since then. It has brought me closer to the Lord than anything since my salvation." Something To Think About: What soap is for the body, tears are for the soul. - Jewish proverb Just a funny: Linda was driving with my two young grandchildren one warm summer evening when a woman in the convertible ahead of her stood up and waved. The woman was stark naked! As she was recovering from the shock, she heard 6-year-old, Lyndi shout from the back seat, "Nanny, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!" On the first day of school, Lyndi, a first-grader, handed her teacher a note from her Nanny. The note read, "The opinions expressed by this child are not necessarily those of her grandparents." Lyndi had just finished her first week of school. "I'm just wasting my time," she said to her Nanny. "I can't read, I can't write, and they won't let me talk!" Nanny was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 6-year-old granddaughter to answer the phone. "Nanny can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's hitting the bottle." Luke got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. Luke watched in amazement and then asked, "What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a little boy before?"

1). Robert Roberson, Wanda Ingram's father, please pray for him, he is very sick but still witnessing for Christ.
2). Tonya Thomas, her baby Wes is at home, he eating now but still needs your prayers.
3). Donna Nix's uncle (Gerald Lucas) passed away, pray for the family.
4). Chuck Webb's mother, Patti Webb, her surgery went well last Monday. Thanks for every one's prayers. Continue to pray for her recovery.
5). Mrs. Barbara McEwen, is very sick but Sammy said she was doing a little better yesterday.
6). Michelle Borden's Aunt Nell and her uncle (a deacon in their church)and cousin Chad Beasley, all have had or have cancer. I would like to ask for prayers for his family.
7). My mother Marie Moore, pray for her and my dad (Carl) as he takes care of her. She is 86, he is 89.
8). Mack and Jacki MacNeil, Jacki's mom is in the hospital in Sylacauga.
9). Emma Reilly, Teresa Mims' mother, the doctor gave her some medicine to slow down her heart rate and think that may help.
10). Bobbie Wright's mother, Margaret Whitlock, she is very weak and trying to gain her strength back.
11). Connie Skinner's dad passed away (Dale Green) pray for her and the family.
